• Minority Business Accelerator

  • Background: The Chamber has discussed this concept for several years, but we had not executed it until the pandemic. 2020 brought more awareness to the needs of local minority-owned businesses. Our Chamber moved quickly to ensure that our companies were aware of resources available at the federal and local levels. In August 2020, we began to formulate a strategy that would serve those who could be underserved. A group of minority-owned businesses (members and non-member) was invited to an open forum in November 2020, where we began our data collection. In 2021, we recognized our minority-owned businesses in our Annual Manual/Magazine.

Purpose: This council will guide and assist the Chamber in providing the best foundation and resources to minority-owned businesses to ensure their success in our community. The Chamber wants to capitalize on the bright spots collected in November and build or enhance business structures. This data was:

    • Keep funds here
    • Build a stronger network
    • Determining how to engage in the community and build awareness

    Who Will be Served:

    • Black-owned
    • Hispanic-owned
    • Asian-owned
    • LBGTQ+IA owned
    • Veteran-owned
    • Women-owned
