Can you imagine our community without women? We have female leaders of all ages who have helped make our community the success that it is. Who do you believe has made our community a better place and how?
Join us on August 1, 2022 to participate in the Chamber's 2022 Women's Leadership Conference. You'll have access to phenomenal local women leaders, thought provoking keynote speakers, excellent breakout session topics and the opportunity to network with women in our community.
Amy Herman is returning as our Keynote Speaker for 2022!The Chamber is proud to share that we have contracted with Amy Herman, art historian, and lawyer who uses works of art to teach us how to hone our perceptions and visual intelligence. Amy will be presenting a paradigm-shattering twist on problem-solving that helps us find solutions to the problems we face every day. Herman has a new book, Fixed: How to Perfect the Fine Art of Problem- Solving, published in December 2021. Things go wrong all the time; Herman offers an innovative and proven way to see problems differently and craft better solutions for productivity, profit, and peace.
* This year we are offering two opportunities to hear from our amazing group of breakout speakers. When registering, please make sure to select your number one option in breakout one, and your second option in breakout two.
All four breakouts will be offered twice, however, due to room sizes attendees do not have the option to select the specific time they attend. Once registration closes, Chamber staff will be place attendees in their assigned breakouts. An update will be sent to attendees prior to the conference. 'What if There is No 'Right?' Answer?' with Devin Tobin From childhood, we have been conditioned to find the right answers. However, as leaders, we are faced with complex problems that do not have a right or wrong answer. We are expected to solve problems like developing a competitive advantage, engaging our employees, and attracting talent. These types of problems don't have answers, they have endless possibilities. In this workshop, we will discuss three tactics to apply to complex decision making: Culture of Questioning, Testing Assumptions, and Standing by Your Decision. After active participation in the workshop, participants will be able to test assumptions and evaluate multiple solutions to solve complex problems. 'Effective Problem-Solving is Actually More than Solving the Problem' with Margaret Deck When we are faced with solving a problem, our brains naturally focus on finding a solution. This workshop uses real examples to show that taking a step back and understanding and correcting the root cause of the problem is much better than simply finding a solution to the immediate problem. 'Root Cause Analysis' is a critical problem-solving technique used by most organizations for the 'bigger' problems they face. That can include anything where managers say 'Wow, we can't afford for that to happen again.' Two examples used in the workshop are food poisoning at a restaurant and an airline that transports an unaccompanied minor to the wrong destination. 'Five Money Questions' with Meghan Kuczmarski and Valerie Wheeler This presentation provides a process women can use to identify financial goals and set a strategy. Through this presentation and interactive discussion attendees will discuss the Rule of 72, systematic investing, employer-sponsored retirement plans and IRA's as strategies for saving. 'A Mighty Force: The Changemaking Power of the Feminine Collective' with Patti Talbot It will take a collective feminine consciousness and an intrepid spirit to attain the ambitious United Nations Global Goals by the 2030 stated target. When we gather our resources and refocus our talents, we can do it. But we will only be successful when we take these steps with other committed women and men walking alongside us on the journey. This is the path of the Changemaker. When we walk the path together, everyday women can create extraordinary change. Change Educator Patti Talbot has a map to get us there. Join this session to learn more about the knowledge, skills and dispositions you will need to carry with you on your own Changemaker's Journey.
* Please note that we are unable to process cancellations or refunds closer than 5 business days to the conference.
