Can you imagine our community without women? We have female leaders of all ages who have helped make our community the success that it is. Who do you believe has made our community a better place and how?
We've never needed visionaries more than now. And strong community leadership is essential to keeping our community healthy. With this in mind, we're making our 2020 Women's Leadership Conference a digital conference.
Join us via Zoom on July 30 to participate in the Chamber's 2020 Women's Leadership Conference. This year's conference might look different, but we assure you that everything you've come to love about our Women's Leadership Conference is staying the same. You'll still have access to phenomenal local women leaders, thought provoking keynote speakers, excellent breakout session topics and the opportunity to network with women in our community.
In fact, by hosting this important conference digitally, we're able to offer you more. After the conference, you will have exclusive access to the archived recordings of every single breakout session! This means you have the potential to hear all six breakout sessions without any additional costs. Speaking of networking, we also have an exclusive online YouTube channel to meet other attendees, and for 30 days, the Chamber will make introductions to those women you might like to meet.
Our Keynote Speaker this year is Amy Herman. Astute perception is critical to professional success. In her Art of Perception presentation, Amy Herman will discuss how entrepreneurs, business owners, and thought leaders can enhance their observation, perception, and communication skills by learning to look at works of art. Experience first-hand the training of the leaders of the FBI, the intelligence community, the military, and the technical industries that supports critical decision making and helps to understand what biases impede best practices. Fast moving and thought provoking. Prepare to have your eyes opened.
Nanci Hardwick is a local business leader who exemplifies entrepreneurship. She founded Aeroprobe, which is the world’s leading producer of precision air data and flow measurement systems and instruments that provide real-time air and flow data. This company has an extensive product line and is used in a wide range of industries and applications where accuracy and efficiency are critical. As a true entrepreneur and visionary, she saw other forms and created Meld Manufacturing. Meld is a game-changer for manufacturing and the way we think about joining, coating, and repairing materials. MELD offers the possibility to rethink the limitations of materials and the potential to explore novel concepts across applications.
And while she will not be discussing trade secrets to her business, she will be sharing the importance of vision and perception in business. Nanci will provide insights on her image and the creation of her companies by looking at her products differently.
Women’s Leadership Conference Breakout Descriptions
Challenge Problematic Patterns and Become the Visionary of Your Own Life with Anne Giles
Women can serve as visionaries of their own lives when they can become aware of patterns of thinking and behaving that may have become problematic for them. Remarkably, simply becoming aware of these patterns can transform them. This workshop offers an opportunity to take that awareness to the next level through non-judgmental, skillful, freeing use of a well-known decision-making tool: the cost-benefit analysis.Exploring the Enneagram: How Knowing Your Number Can Help You Craft Your Vision with Cassidy Jones
The Enneagram is a widely used tool for self-awareness and self-discovery. It is built on the notion that there are nine basic personality types in the human race, and if we are willing to do the work to understand our type: our fears, desires, strengths, motivations and more, then we can better understand what we have to offer the world. And when we do that, we can use the Enneagram to evolve into a better version of ourselves, using the beauty of our type to contribute to the greater good in our relationships, careers and communities. With greater self-understanding, we can better develop and execute a vision that is suited to exactly who we are.Creating A Vision of You with Janelle Anderson - *this workshop is at capacity
How you do one thing is how you do anything. This means that your vision for your business or organization emerges from who you are being and becoming in the world. It’s crucial, then, that you are connected to who you are and have a clear vision of who you are becoming so that everything you do flows out with ease and authenticity. In this session, our goal will be to create a vividly clear vision of you. We’ll start with an engaging and interactive presentation on discovering your truest and best self, followed by exploratory exercises with a creative flair. You’ll leave this session with a visualized representation of your amazing self!40/70 Vision is Just as Good with Sharon Scott and Amber Eversole
As women, we must stop believing that we have to be PERFECT and 20/20 is perfect vision. Sometimes 40/70 vision is fine and sometimes taking corrective steps is more important than being perfect. Sharon Scott and Amber Eversole will discuss how to build from the foundation that you have and become stronger. Sharon will speak from personal challenges. She and Amber will provide tools and resources to help women regardless of age or the challenge.Personalizing Your Vision Beyond the Precedent with Robyn Jones
In our rapidly evolving business community, there is a tension between innovation and precedent. Women in leadership positions particularly experience this strain. This engaging presentation will help women in leadership roles explore who they are today, who they can be in the future, and the pathway towards achieving their vision. We will also strategize ways to navigate the status quo to a career that is rich, meaningful and fulfilling.
Please note that we are unable to process cancellations or refunds closer than 3 days to the conference.
